The story behind Cairbre
Cairbre, poet of the Tuatha Dé, composed the first satire ever uttered in Ireland against the miserly king Bres of the Fomorians; later, the Cycles of the Kings tell of Cairbre Lifechair, who broke the power of the Fianna at Gabhra but died in the battle.
