An Ulster warrior in the Táin Bó Cúailnge, son of Fintan, who fought single combat to defend Ulster from the men of Connacht.
The story behind Cethern
In the Táin, Cethern was so badly wounded he had to be packed in marrow-mash to keep him alive; physicians came one after another and each was killed when his prognosis displeased the warrior; only Fíngin gave a satisfactory diagnosis.
