Borne by Dáire mac Fiachna, owner of the brown bull Donn Cúailnge whose theft by Queen Medb sparked the Táin Bó Cúailnge, and by an early Irish god of fertility.
The story behind Dáire
When Medb's messengers came to buy the Brown Bull, Dáire offered him freely until he overheard them boast they would have taken the bull by force if he had refused; insulted, he sent them away — and Medb's army marched the next day.
